Staff Assistant – Senate Armed Services Committee

The Senate Committee on Armed Services is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, well-organized individual for the immediate position of Staff Assistant.  Primary responsibilities include reception duties, to include answering telephones, receiving visitors, and opening, sorting and electronic processing of the mail. To qualify, an incumbent should be a college graduate; have at least 6 months of previous office experience; be detail-oriented; and possess effective oral communication and writing skills.  Additionally, the candidate must have fast and accurate typing skills and possess well-rounded computer experience, to include knowledge of and previous experience with Microsoft Office Access and Excel programs.  An ability to work with minimum supervision, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and operate in a fast-paced environment is also required.  Senate experience is preferable, but not essential.
