Job Summary:

Chamber Support Services staff facilitate visitor access to the House Chamber. Duties include checking and storing items prior to House Gallery access; escorting visitors to and from the House Gallery; and maintaining decorum on the House Floor when the House is out of session. Chamber Support Services staff assist with emergency protocols and ensure that security violations are discovered, handled, and reported to the appropriate authority.

Hours:

8:30 AM until 5:00 PM Monday – Friday. Must be able to work an occasional split shift when the House is in session: 3:30 PM until 12:00 midnight.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent work experience; must be tactful and courteous in dealing with a wide variety of people; excellent communication skills; strong organizational skills; able to use good judgment while independently solving problems; able to work well under pressure. Must be able to work long hours and evenings when needed. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and walk up and down stairs while escorting visitors.
