Media Intern – Texas House Republican
The office of Congressman Blake Farenthold (TX-27) is looking for a new media intern for the spring and summer of 2012 for our Washington, D.C. office. We are looking for highly qualified candidates that are motivated, detail-oriented, and personable. The ideal candidates will have a background in journalism or public relations with a new media focus and a strong interest in digital media. A basic knowledge of graphic design, video, audio, and/or photography and editing in those mediums is a must (i.e. PhotoShop, Premier Plus, etc). Intern – Wisconsin House Democrat
Progressive Wisconsin Democrat seeks a legislative intern for Spring 2012. Interns will work in a fast-paced Congressional Office, gaining valuable exposure and knowledge of the legislative process and the United States Congress. Intern responsibilities include greeting constituents, handling constituent phone calls, opening and sorting mail, and assisting staff with administrative tasks. Interns will also have the opportunity to conduct legislative research, and assist with correspondence, as well as attend some Capitol Hill briefings, congressional hearings, receptions, and press events. This internship is unpaid.
Qualifications:
Interns must have a good attitude, strong work ethic, and excellent written and oral communication skills. Successful interns will be able to find information with little assistance, be able to work both independently as well as part of a team environment, and have strong attention to detail. Applicants should have working knowledge of current events and policy topics, as well as a willingness to do mundane tasks as needed. Wisconsin ties a plus.
Requirements:
Interns must be able to commit to at least three full days a week (9:00am-6:00pm) from February to April/May. First priority will be given to applicants who can work full-time.

Texas Republican in the U.S. House of Representatives is looking for full and part time unpaid Spring interns. Internships can start in immediately and can last through the end of May. Interns looking for full time jobs will be considered, as well. Interns in the Washington, D.C. office will be responsible for assisting with general office duties (answering phones, passing out mail, distributing faxes), and assisting legislative staff with research and writing. Performing constituent services (scheduling tours, processing flag requests, and legislative correspondence) will also be an integral part of each internship. Interns will be encouraged to attend hearings, briefings, and other Congressional proceedings. Additional duties are available and will be assigned according to an intern’s interest and ability. Interns will be trained on Intranet Quorum (IQ) and writing letters. Must be highly motivated, self-starter, detail oriented, possess excellent organizational and communication skills, a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and will have the ability to manage multiple tasks on a deadline.
