Staff Assistant – Senate HELP Committee (majority)
The Democratic Labor and Pensions Policy Office of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee seeks an energetic, organized staff assistant for full-time position. The staff assistant will manage the Labor and Pensions Policy Office, which includes providing administrative support to the Policy Director and five other professionals, hiring and supervising interns, answering phones, handling scheduling requests, reserving rooms for briefings and meetings, and organizing and arranging briefing books and materials for the staff and Senator’s use. The Staff Assistant also assists with preparing legislative materials, including creating charts and drafting memos, letters, talking points, and speeches. Excellent organizational, administrative, writing, computer, and people skills are a must. While this is primarily an administrative position, strong quantitative skills, familiarity with economic data, and experience and/or interest in labor or pensions issues would be a plus.
