Scheduler – Congressman Seth Moulton (D-MA)

SUMMARY:  The scheduler manages the Congressman’s most important asset – his time. Working directly with the Congressman, Chief of Staff, and District Director, the Scheduler is one of the most essential members of the team. S/he maintains the Congressman’s official schedule and travel plans; ensures that complex schedules and difficult decisions about priorities are executed perfectly; and acts as a liaison for the Congressman with the staff, public and other Members of Congress. Applicants should be eager, dynamic, intelligent, and exceptionally organized. Top-notch interpersonal skills and work ethic are required as well. Additional responsibilities can be added commensurate with interest and experience.


* Supervises the Congressman’s entire schedule and two additional schedulers in Massachusetts. Holds responsibility for everything on the calendar;
* Prepares the daily schedule and associated itineraries for the Congressman in Washington, D.C.;
* Prepares projected schedules for the Congressman, helping align key priorities in the months ahead;
* Briefs the Congressman on all scheduling activities and requests of the Washington, D.C. office;
* Schedules all staff meetings and briefings involving the Congressman;
* Coordinates scheduling of press, interviews, radio and television time with the  Communications Director and Press Assistant;
* Makes reservations for the Congressman’s rail and air travel, and coordinates lodging  and ground transportation;
* Submits vouchers for travel and expense reimbursement to the staff member responsible for submitting office bills for payment;
* Ensures that the Congressman is provided with briefing materials for each event by  coordinating with event participants and the appropriate staff member;
* Acts as a liaison for constituents and other individuals when they visit the Congressman;
* Acts as a liaison between the Congressman and other Members, committee staff, White  House, and government offices and agencies to arrange for the Congressman’s attendance at meetings or to coordinate travel plans;
* Maintains a good working relationship with the Congressman, staff, constituents, and other Congressional offices;
* Performs other duties as assigned.
