Conservative, but pragmatic, Freshman Republican seeking an experienced press secretary for DC office.  Would work closely with the Member, Chief of Staff and legislative staff on messaging and branding strategy. Responsibilities include—but are not limited to—writing columns, press releases, e-newsletters, maintaining the website, managing social-networking websites, pitching ideas to national and local outlets and coordinating all district press. The ideal candidate will be creative, with fresh and innovative ideas to communicate the message.  Strong writing skills, media contacts, and political instincts are absolute must.  A background and familiarity with economic, banking, and deficit reduction/job-creation topics is a plus, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn is equally important.
