Online Communications Director – House Energy & Commerce Committee (minority)
A House Democratic Committee seeks a dynamic, versatile, creative Online Communication Director to oversee the Committee website. As part of the communications team, this person will serve as the strategic online expert. Responsibilities include developing, updating, and maintaining a cutting edge, user friendly website, managing web-based projects, designing and creating web-ready graphics, and producing and editing videos. The position requires proficiency and experience in website development, demonstrated design skills, excellent writing, and broad knowledge of Democratic messaging.
The ideal candidate is a creative and detail oriented self starter. Hill experience is not necessary but a good sense of humor and ability to work under short deadlines is required.
Qualifications:
Expertise with HTML required.
Knowledge of CSS, Javascript, PHP, and MySQL preferred.
Experience with Drupal, Joomla! or other content management systems required.
Experience creating and editing graphics, videos, and other visual media for online use preferred.
Excellent writing and editing skills and a sharp attention to detail.
Thorough understanding and experience with new media.
Proficiency analyzing and tracking web metrics with Google Analytics.
Strong ability to organize and prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a team.
Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum of two years related experience.
