Legislative Correspondent – West Virginia Senate Democrat

Moderate Democratic Senator is seeking a Legislative Correspondent whose portfolio would include health, education, labor, prescription drug, and judiciary issues.  Primary responsibilities include responding to constituent mail, keeping abreast of legislative developments,  meeting with constituent groups,  and providing assistance to the Legislative Assistant for these issues.  The ideal candidate has the ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally, and is able to prioritize and perform duties in a fast-paced environment.  Policy experience with prescription drug abuse is preferred.  West Virginia ties and Capitol Hill experience are also great pluses. Please send a 1-2 page writing sample with your resume and cover letter to senate_employment@saa.senate.gov with 223005 as the job referral number in the subject line.
