Legislative Correspondent (tax/trade/retirement/fin. svcs./housing) – Mid-Atlantic Senate Democrat on Finance Committee

Progressive Democratic Senator serving on the Finance Committee seeks LC to work on tax, trade, retirement, financial services, and housing issues.  Candidate must be an outstanding writer and have solid analytical and research skills.  Relevant experience in economics, finance, and/or tax policy is strongly preferred; a law or advanced policy degree is a plus but not required.  Duties include constituent correspondence, research, meetings with interest groups, and writing talking points and memos on legislation, regulations, policy developments, and other items within the issue portfolio.  This is a very active portfolio and you should be a self-starter with a strong interest in the issue areas above, excellent attention to detail, the ability to work independently, the ability to consistently meet deadlines, and the motivation to learn and analyze new material on a broad range of topics.  Mid-Atlantic ties a plus – please detail in your application.  Please email a cover letter, resume and brief writing sample to senate_employment@saa.senate.gov with 223593 as the job referral number in subject line.
