Legislative Correspondent (health/education) – Senate HELP Committee Democrat

Democratic Appropriator and HELP Committee member seeks a Legislative Correspondent with strong writing, research and oral communications skills to write constituent mail on issues related to health and education. Responsibilities include drafting constituent mail, staffing the Senator in meetings and HELP Committee markups, preparing materials for events in DC and in the state, providing policy and vote recommendations, and drafting talking points, memos and outreach materials. Ideal candidates should be motivated, entrepreneurial, flexible, work well under pressure in an extremely fast-paced environment and have the ability to balance competing interests of a demographically and ideologically diverse constituency. Previous Hill experience required and health experience preferred.
