Legislative Correspondent (health) – Senate Democrat on Finance Committee

Progressive Democratic Senator serving on the Finance Committee seeks LC to work on Medicare/Medicaid, private health insurance, veterans’ health, HHS, NIH and CDC issues. Candidate must be an outstanding writer and have solid analytical and research skills.  Relevant experience in health care policy is strongly preferred; an MPH or other advanced degree is a plus but not required.  Mid-Atlantic ties a plus – please detail in your application.  Duties include constituent correspondence, research, meetings with interest groups, and writing talking points and memos on legislation, regulations, and policy developments.  This is a very active portfolio and you should be a self-starter with a strong interest in the issue areas above, excellent attention to detail, the ability to work independently and consistently meet deadlines, and the motivation to learn and analyze new material on a broad range of topics.
