Legislative Correspondent (foreign policy) – Mid-Atlantic Senate Democrat

Mid-Atlantic Democratic Senator on Foreign Relations Committee seeks Legislative Correspondent to work on foreign policy issues, including U.S. foreign assistance and development goals, U.S. policy towards the developing world including Africa, U.S. promotion of human rights, and other issues as needed in the Washington, DC office. Daily duties include but are not limited to researching and responding to constituent mail, attending hearings and briefings, and meeting with constituent groups. Exceptional writing and proofreading skills are essential. Additionally, this position requires sound political judgment, ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and an inclination to take initiative. Qualified applicants should be intelligent, resourceful, organized, professional and dependable. This is a junior position and previous Hill experience is preferred, but not required.
