Senior and active member of the Senate Commerce Committee seeks experienced legislative staff to handle Committee issues. Primary focus of the position is on telecommunications and media issues, as well as consumer protection, transportation and aviation issues. Responsibilities include staffing all committee meetings, drafting legislation and amendments, preparing talking points and interacting with constituent groups, federal agencies, and private sector stakeholders. Strong background in these policy areas, in-depth understanding of the legislative process, and strong written and oral communications skills are required. Hill experience preferred.
