Legislative Assistant – House Democrat
House Democrat seeks Legislative Assistant to handle a diverse portfolio of issues including economic policy, financial services, government reform, small business, and other legislative issues as assigned. Responsibilities include developing and advancing the Member’s legislative agenda; providing detailed updates and analysis on relevant issue areas; representing the Member in meetings with constituents; and outreach to interested groups with a heavy emphasis on the business community. Successful candidates should have a talent for communicating complex issues in a concise manner, both verbally and in writing. Previous Hill experience or in a position relating to the substance of one of the major issues in the portfolio preferred.
