Internships in Rep. Royce’s Washington, D.C. office offer a great opportunity for students to come to the nation’s capital and learn more about our government. Interns in Rep. Royce’s Washington, D.C. office will be responsible for assisting with general office duties (answering phones, passing out mail, distributing faxes, compiling daily press clips), and assisting legislative staff with research and writing. Performing constituent services (giving guided tours of U.S. Capitol building, processing flag requests, and legislative correspondence) will also be an integral part of each internship. Interns will be encouraged to attend hearings, briefings, and other Congressional proceedings. Additional duties are available and will be assigned according to an intern’s interest and ability. Successful interns will be enthusiastic, willing to learn, detail-oriented, have excellent phone manners and have a positive attitude. In the fast-paced work environment of a Congressional office, the ability to ensure accuracy and timeliness of work is essential for interns.
