General Counsel – Senate Democrat on Judiciary Committee

Democratic Senator on the Judiciary Committee seeks General Counsel.  Experience with and knowledge of judiciary-related issues—including, for example, intellectual property, criminal justice reform, and constitutional law strongly preferred.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to planning legislative strategy, building coalitions, preparing for hearings, and writing memos, speeches, and talking points.  Interested applicants must have a record of leadership and initiative.  The position requires strategic thinking, the ability to work independently, and outstanding oral communication and writing skills.  Ideal candidates must be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and possess strong legal, negotiation, and legislative skills.  Constituent outreach and engagement are important components of the job. J.D. is required.  Please e-mail a cover letter and resume to senate_employment@saa.senate.gov with 223026 as the job referral number in the subject line.
