Texas Republican Rep. Michael McCaul is looking for full time, unpaid Fall interns. Internships can start late July – early September and can last through the end of December. Interns in the Washington, D.C. office will be responsible for assisting with general office duties (answering phones, passing out mail, distributing faxes), assisting legislative staff with research and writing, and responding to constituent mail. Performing constituent services (scheduling tours, processing flag requests, and legislative correspondence) will also be an integral part of each internship. Interns will be encouraged to attend hearings, briefings, and other Congressional proceedings. Additional duties are available and will be assigned according to an intern’s interest and ability. Must be highly motivated, self-starter, detail oriented, possess excellent organizational and communication skills, a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and will have the ability to manage multiple tasks on a deadline.
