Executive Assistant – House Republican

Republican House Member seeks a hard-working, proactive, and detail-oriented Executive Assistant in Washington, D.C. office to develop and oversee Member and Office daily and long-term schedule as well as Office logistics.  Duties include performing the scheduling operations of an active Member: managing and evaluating meeting requests from start to finish, effectively adapting to variables in the schedule as well as fluctuating priorities, transporting Member to/from meetings and events, coordinating travel arrangements, and ensuring Member is prepared for meetings and events. As the Office’s primary point of contact, this position will require a polite and professional demeanor and a keen ability to communicate with all staff to identify schedule priorities. A tight schedule is critical to achieving Member’s professional goals, and a successful candidate is someone who has great judgment and strong political instincts. As a critical member of the Office team, this person must maintain a positive working relationship with staff of all levels. Additional responsibilities include handling the Member’s personal correspondence, maintaining office records, and other projects as assigned by the Member and/or Chief of Staff.  This position reports to both Member and Chief of Staff, and the Executive Assistant must be able to accept direction or constructive criticism from both. This is not an entry level position and previous scheduling experience in a fast-paced office is preferred.  Proficiency in Outlook and Intranet Quorum (IQ) and a track record of organizational and project management skills required. Must have access to a car and ability to work long, irregular hours when the House is in session. Salary commensurate with experience. Interested applicants should submit resume, writing sample, cover letter, and salary range to
