Senior West Coast House Democrat seeks Communications Director to lead an aggressive communication operation. Duties include writing press releases, op-eds, advisories, and other written materials for the Member’s personal office; pitching stories and articles to local, regional, and national media; managing incoming media requests and press bookings; maintaining the Member’s website and social media platforms; and working closely with legislative staff to create media coverage for policy initiatives.
Prior experience working for Congress or within the communications field is preferred. Strong writing and verbal skills, knowledge of HTML/website design, and an understanding of Congress and current federal policy issues are also desired.
