Communications Director – Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA)
Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) seeks an experienced communications director to run a busy press operation. Duties will include: writing press releases, speeches, talking points, and op-eds; pitching stories to reporters; managing incoming media requests; maintaining the website and social media platforms; managing the constituent newsletter content, production, and distribution process; working closely with the legislative staff to better understand policy and create new opportunities for the Member; and planning and implementing strategic communications initiatives. Candidates should have substantive press, communications, and writing experience from fields such as government, media/public relations, and/or journalism. Familiarity with financial services issues and Spanish language proficiency are pluses. We are looking for creative candidates with fresh ideas. This is not an entry level position. Fall Interns – Congressman Raúl Labrador (R-ID)
