Being an intern on Capitol Hill provides college students with a unique opportunity to see the legislative process up close and learn how the government works. Our office is currently accepting applications for an immediate opening to last through the Fall of 2012.
As an intern in Congressman Guinta’s Washington DC Office, you will be an integral part of our office. An intern’s responsibilities may include:
Assisting with research
Assembling and inputting data
Drafting letters and responding to constituent mail
Answering and responding to constituent phone calls
Conducting Staff-led Capitol tours
Assisting with mailing assignments
Attending a variety of speakers, meetings, and hearings
Greeting constituents and visitors

Fall Interns – Congressman Rick Crawford (R-AR)
Congressman Crawford is seeking interns for his Washington, D.C. office for the fall 2012 semester. In his DC office, internships run throughout the fall, spring or summer semesters for qualified college juniors and seniors, or recent college graduates.Duties include but are not limited to: answering phones, running errands, researching legislation for the Member and legislative staff, leading Capitol tours, attending hearings and briefings, and answering constituent letters on various issues before the House. As a result, interns learn about the legislative process and the many other functions of a congressional office. The hours are flexible to accommodate students’ hectic course schedules, but generally run 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. when Congress is in session, and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. when not in session. Applicants should possess a great work ethic; have agreeable communication skills, and strong writing skills. Arkansas ties are ideal, but are not required. New Media Intern – Congressman Blake Farenthold (R-TX)
The office of Congressman Blake Farenthold (TX-27) is looking for a new media intern for the summer of 2012 for our Washington, D.C. office.
