Staff Assistant – Senator Jay Rockefeller (D-WV)

Systems Administrator – Western Senate Democrat

Western Democratic Senator seeks a Systems Administrator to oversee technology for the D.C. and state offices, and provide support with correspondence management and processing.  Responsibilities include installing, updating, maintaining, and troubleshooting hardware and software.  This includes, but is not limited to, office PC and Mac workstations, printers, mobile devices, and servers.  The Systems Administrator provides support for a variety of issues and identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems.  The Systems Administrator responds to telephone, e-mail, and in-person requests for technical assistance; works with the Administrative Director in making recommendations for the purchase of IT, office and communications equipment; and provides support and training for staff and interns.  Ideal candidates will have prior experience in a technical support role and have proficiency with Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Vista, Microsoft Office programs, particularly Microsoft Outlook, Mac OS X, and Active Directory.  Qualified candidates will have strong oral and written communications skills, strong interpersonal skills, work well under pressure, and in handling multiple tasks.  Candidates will also have strong organizational skills and be highly motivated.  Some Hill experience preferred and familiarity with Symplicity VOICE computer correspondence system a plus.  Those interested in being considered should send cover letter and resume to email hidden; JavaScript is required.  This office is an equal opportunity employer.

Legislative Correspondent – Southeastern House Republican

A Southeastern Republican Member is seeking a Legislative Correspondent to manage all aspects of constituent correspondence in his DC office. Interested applicants will have knowledge of the legislative process, excellent writing and organizational skills and a strong attention to detail.  Duties include, but are not limited to, sorting incoming letters and emails, tracking and assigning mail through IQ, drafting and sending timely responses, and preparing weekly mail reports.
