Administrative Director – Senate Republican
Republican Senator is seeking an experienced and innovative Administrative Director. Person will report to the Chief of Staff and be responsible for the management of the administrative functions of the DC and state offices, including the oversight and implementation of the office budget; oversight and operations of all facilities and equipment, the management of all office accounts, including payroll accounts; personnel records, such as office leave and expenditure reports; serving as the office emergency coordinator; procuring and maintaining all needed office equipment, furniture and supplies; oversight of intern program and acting as primary point of contact for Senate support agencies (SAA, AOC, Rules, USCP, etc.) regarding all non-legislative business. Successful candidate will be a strong administrator with solid management experience and knowledge of Senate budgetary guidelines, human resource practices and ethics rules. Staff Assistant – Senate HELP Committee (majority)
The Democratic Labor and Pensions Policy Office of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee seeks an energetic, organized staff assistant for full-time position. The staff assistant will manage the Labor and Pensions Policy Office, which includes providing administrative support to the Policy Director and five other professionals, hiring and supervising interns, answering phones, handling scheduling requests, reserving rooms for briefings and meetings, and organizing and arranging briefing books and materials for the staff and Senator’s use. The Staff Assistant also assists with preparing legislative materials, including creating charts and drafting memos, letters, talking points, and speeches. Excellent organizational, administrative, writing, computer, and people skills are a must. While this is primarily an administrative position, strong quantitative skills, familiarity with economic data, and experience and/or interest in labor or pensions issues would be a plus. Interns (paid and unpaid) – House Natural Resources Committee (majority)
The Republican Majority staff of the Committee on Natural Resources in the U.S. House of Representatives is now accepting applications for unpaid, and possible paid, internships. The Committee is currently seeking to fill positions for the Summer. Responsibilities include: assisting Committee staff, supporting hearings, answering phones, greeting visitors, and research. Interns will be assigned special projects as needed. The ideal candidate will be motivated, mature, detail oriented and possess the ability to multi-task. This is an excellent opportunity for a college student or recent graduate looking to gain experience working on Capitol Hill. It is preferred that interns are able to work full time, from approximately 9:00am-5:30pm.
