Job Summary:
Incumbent will assist authorized visitors on official business to U.S. Capitol. Duties include checking credentials and verifying appointments, coordinating visitor access, issuing visitor badges, and providing general information to visitors to include directions within Capitol complex as well as surrounding areas. Incumbent will enforce House policies and procedures relating to official visitor access.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. One to three years customer service/reception experience. Applicant must possess excellent verbal communications skills, strong organizational skills; ability to listen carefully and respond to Members of Congress, staff, visitors, and the general public in a tactful and courteous manner; ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with other employees; ability to follow specific rules, regulations, procedures and protocols; ability to work well under pressure and exercise sound judgment in a variety of situations. Hill experience preferred. Knowledge of Capitol grounds beneficial. Applicant must be able to successfully complete a criminal history records check.
