Candidates will have a great opportunity to learn the legislative process, become more familiar with the role of Congress, and gain valuable Capitol Hill experience. Correspondence Specialist/Tour Coordinator – Senate Democrat
Democratic Senator is seeking a Correspondence Specialist/Tour Coordinator who will be responsible for receiving all special correspondence requests using established office protocols to ensure a consistent message, and acting as a liaison for all constituent requests for tours to DC landmarks (White House, U.S. Capitol, Supreme Court, Etc.). Specific duties include, but are not limited to: providing executive level writing, editing and enforcement of quality correspondence signed by the Senator; researching and writing letters to constituents, organizations, military, Eagle Scout/Gold Award milestones, congressional and VIP requests from the state; maintaining correspondence (IQ) database; acting as tour liaison with The White House, U.S. Capitol, Supreme Court, Department of State, Pentagon, The Library of Congress, The National Archives and U.S. Bureau of Printing and Engraving staff; as well as providing and coordinating Capitol Tour training for interns ensuring high-quality tour guides for constituent and VIP guests during staff-led tours. Qualified candidates must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, be team-oriented and comfortable working in a busy setting with varying degrees of professional staff, have advanced organizational and time management skills and the ability to shift priorities quickly and efficiently while maintaining a positive service-oriented attitude. Advanced knowledge of MS Outlook, Word and Excel and familiarity with Intranet Quorum preferred.
