Legislative Correspondent – Senate Republican
A conservative Republican U.S. Senator is seeking a Legislative Correspondent. The issues assignments may change, but the position currently includes constituent correspondence on environment, energy, financial services, and other issues. The job will also require a number of additional assignments from the legislative director and legislative assistants, including staffing meetings with constituents, drafting memos, assisting with research, and other work to support the senator’s legislative priorities. Press Secretary/Speechwriter – Western Senate Democrat
Western Democratic Senator seeks seasoned Press Secretary with excellent writing and editing skills for his Washington, D.C. office. Duties include writing speeches, press releases and advisories, briefing memos, floor speeches, newsletters, and Web content. The press secretary will report to the Communications Director. Intern – Philadelphia House Democrat
Congressman Robert A. Brady’s office is currently looking for one more Spring semester Intern to assist our legislative staff. The position requires someone who is highly motivated, has a sound understanding of the U.S. political system and has a genuine interest in the legislative process. In addition to helping teach and inform, our office encourages interns to regularly attend Congressional Hearings, legislative Mark-ups, Congressional Research Service courses and both on Capitol Hill and off Capitol Hill events. We firmly believe in providing the leniency necessary to accomplish any and all course work during your time with our office. Scheduler – Senate Democrat
Democratic Senator seeks highly-motivated, supremely-organized individual to serve as Senator’s DC Scheduler. This individual will maintain the Senator’s daily and long-term schedules as well as act as a liaison for the Senator with both staff and constituents. Primary responsibilities will include: receiving, evaluating and organizing all incoming meeting and event requests; greeting the Senator’s meeting attendees throughout the day; communicating key information regarding the Senator’s and the Senate’s schedule to staff; ensuring proper advance work is done for Senator’s travel, appearances and meetings; working with the Senator’s in-state Scheduler; and other duties as assigned by the Senator and the Chief of Staff. The ideal candidate will be an energetic, resourceful, discreet team player with a proven ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment. This is NOT an entry-level position. Qualified applicants will have at least 3-5 years of Scheduling and/or Executive Assistant experience, preferably on Capitol Hill. Salary commensurate with experience.
