Intern – Texas House Republican
The Office of Congressman Pete Olson (TX‐22) is seeking an unpaid intern for Spring 2012 in the Washington, D.C. office. Day to day responsibilities include (but are not limited to) greeting constituents, answering telephones, sorting mail, leading tours of the U.S. Capitol, assisting legislative staff with projects, attending Congressional briefings and hearings, and assisting with press activities. The ideal candidate will be a college student or recent graduate who is motivated; is detail‐orientated; possesses strong organizational, communication and writing skills; has a positive attitude; and has the ability to manage multiple tasks and work well under pressure and in a team environment. This position provides exposure to the legislative process while developing a strong understanding of how a Congressional office operates. Interns – Midwestern Senate Democrat
Midwestern Democratic Senator seeks undergraduate students and recent graduates for full and part-time internships beginning in late January or February. Internship responsibilities include: legislative research on policy issues for Senator’s Legislative staff in order to prepare floor speeches, hearing statements, and floor charts; constituent correspondence by letter, email, and telephone; attending hearings and other events on Capitol Hill on behalf of the office; and various administrative tasks.
