Responsibilities will include but are not limited to answering phones, mail processing, performing constituent services, and assisting staff members with various assignments. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, detail-oriented, possess excellent organization and communication skills, and a positive attitude. Texas ties preferred. Representative Peter Welch (D-VT) has an opening for a legislative assistant to handle various issues that may include financial services, business, tax and budget issues.   If you are an outstanding writer, have a track record of entrepreneurial and strategic thinking in the legislative arena,  and know the difference between Grade A and Grade B Vermont maple syrup, this may be the job for you.   The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of Hill experience (ideally in these issue areas), is a self-starter, highly organized and team oriented.  Vermont ties are preferred.  This is not an entry-level position.
