Paid Communications Intern – House Science, Space and Technology Committee (minority)

The Democratic staff of the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology is seeking a highly-motivated, full-time spring communications intern (includes a stipend) to start the fourth or fifth week of January.  Must be able to work full time hours (M-F, 9am – 6pm).  The intern will assist the Communications Director and duties may include taking photos of Members and witnesses at hearings, uploading and selecting photos for the website, assisting in monitoring the Committee’s social media outlets, web maintenance, reviewing news clips, and possibly assisting in drafting press releases. Capital Region Manager/Education Liaison – Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) (state job)

Democratic Senator seeks dynamic, energetic and experienced individual to manage an education reform policy portfolio as well as the outreach activities in the parishes surrounding the Baton Rouge region. This individual will interact with education policy experts at the local, state, and national effort in working to move education reform forward in Louisiana.  In addition, this individual will also manage the traditional outreach activities for the Senator in a 12 parish-area. Duties include developing and maintaining relationships with local business, civic and government leaders as well as representing the Senator to constituents in the region, and working with the State Legislature. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Qualified applicants will have proven experience in government or community outreach, and a background in education policy. Experience in working with the State Legislature is a plus. Law Clerks – Senate Homeland Security Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations (minority)

Law Clerkships – Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT)
