Interns – Nevada House Republican
Congressman Mark Amodei (NV-2) is currently seeking 2012 spring interns to start immediately. Responsibilities include: Answering phones, research, writing, sorting and responding to constituent mail, aiding staff for specific projects, etc. They will also have the opportunity to attend committee hearings, briefings, and staff meetings. **If the individual is interested in a particular issue, we will make sure to assign him/her to that specific legislative aide, and give letter writing projects for that subject. Nevada ties are preferred, but not required. Times and dates of availability are flexible, but two to three days per week is preferred. Congresswoman Virginia Foxx (NC-05) has an opening for an unpaid legislative intern starting immediately and continuing through the end of the spring semester in her Washington, DC office. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the staff with incoming mail and data management, researching legislative issues and preparing constituent letters, attending hearings, and assisting on other projects as needed. Any applicant should have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work diligently and upon instruction in a fast-paced work environment. The office of Congressman Geoff Davis (R-KY) is currently seeking interns to work in his Washington, D.C. office during the spring of 2012. Duties include but are not limited to leading tours of the U.S. Capitol, assisting the legislative staff with policy research and projects, attending committee hearings and briefings, aiding in constituent correspondence, in addition to various other tasks. Kentucky and district ties are preferred but not required. A single position exists with a modest stipend. Additional unpaid positions may be available.
