Scheduler – Western Senate Democrat
Senior Western Democrat seeks proactive, experienced, and energetic Scheduler for a fast-paced, team-oriented Washington, DC office. At least one year scheduling experience is necessary, Congressional scheduling experience preferred. Job responsibilities include managing all incoming invitations to DC office and working with Legislative, Press, and Executive Assistant to determine priorities for the Senator’s time. We need a highly-qualified individual who will be responsible for travel arrangements, invitation follow-ups, organization of daily briefing materials for the Senator, schedule maintenance, and other similar duties. Scheduler also works on some special projects when needed and aides in support to the Executive Assistant with personal items. Qualified candidates must be detail-oriented, have excellent communication and organizational skills, and an ability to perform under pressure. Staff Assistant/Systems Administrator – Congressman Mike Honda (D-CA)
California Democrat seeks bright, patient, flexible, and highly organized individual to serve as both a Staff Assistant and Systems Administrator in D.C. office. The ideal candidate must excel at multi-tasking and have excellent customer service and computer/ mobile device systems administration skills. The position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, good research skills, and a willingness to work long hours in a fast-paced environment. Foreign language fluency and California background/experience preferred.
Staff assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Front office management in coordination with scheduler and executive assistant to the Member, processing of tour/flag requests, intern coordination, answering phones, greeting visitors such as constituents, elected officials, or government officials, assisting on special projects and providing general support to Member, Chief of Staff, and staff. Systems administrator responsibilities include proactively maintaining computer and technical systems for Washington DC and District offices, providing software and hardware troubleshooting for staff and Member, inventorying of equipment, and maintenance of office intranet site. Applicant must be familiar with Windows administration, have the ability to operate in a network environment with skills in server management and have in-depth of major application suites as well as desktop and mobile device operating systems. The individual should also have experience with website design, construction and administration (including HTML), voter file databases and data migration. Proficiency with Internet Quorum (IQ) and Catalist a plus.
