Staff and Scheduling Assistant – Ohio House Republican

Associate Counsel – Office of House Employment Counsel
Provides legal counsel in a non-partisan fashion to employing offices of the House of Representatives on employment and labor matters, under the general supervision of the Counsel. Conducts legal research, drafts legal documents and pleadings, and conducts training on employment law issues. Develops litigation strategies and settlement opportunities. Independently develops trial and post-trial plans and litigates cases before the Office of Compliance and the U.S. District Courts.
Requirements:
Temperament to communicate with a variety of personalities in a tactful, pleasant and professional manner. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing. Must have a law degree and be licensed to practice in any state, and have extensive knowledge of federal employment laws. A minimum of five years of litigation experience and the ability to work in a team-oriented work environment is required. Must be detail oriented.
