Legislative Assistant – Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO)
Senator McCaskill seeks experienced, energetic individual for Legislative Assistant position. Issues will include healthcare, labor & judiciary matters, as well as others. Responsibilities include managing and completing all legislative work in assigned issue areas, preparing materials for meetings, briefings, and hearings (focus on Special Committee on Aging), drafting legislation, advising the Senator on substantive and political information related to legislation and key issues within responsible policy areas, representing the Senator at events and in constituent meetings, and working with the Legislative Director and Chief of Staff to strategically accomplish the Senator’s goals. Qualified candidates should be experienced in the issue areas assigned, be well-organized, resourceful, and be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment. Legislative Correspondent – Congressman Randy Forbes (R-VA)
